Law School Applications / LSAC GPA Issue

I just got my LSAC GPA report back and they’ve worked my overall GPA to be a 2.6. I have a 3.4 at my degree granting school and all of the bad grades are from 5+ years ago. Do you think schools will look at the upward trend or just the LSAC version of my GPA?

Does anyone else have a similar GPA, if so what did you get on the LSAT and where did you get accepted? Thanks

Law School Applications / January Admission or wait for Fall???

I will be graduating this December and had planned on going straight into law school in January. I know that there are not as many schools with January admission but I am interested in a few that do. My question really is though do you think it would be more beneficial to wait for fall admission or go for the January admission? All opinions welcome. Thanks!

Law School Applications / Where are you from and what schools are you by?

Hi, everyone! I’m fairly new to the board and was thinking that it might be a good idea for people to post where they are from and what law schools are by them. I’m under the impression that most people are from the west coast but I’m sure that some of us are from Midwest, South and the East. If anyone is interested in a school in a particular area then maybe someone from that area could try to answer the question.

I’ll start I live 15 minutes outside of St. Louis MO (though on the IL side). Law schools around here are Washington University, St. Louis University, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale (about an hour away).

OK so here is the deal. When I was fresh out of high school I went away to a university. I came out of there with 9 hours worth of credit after 3 semesters. After taking a year off I went back to school, a different school and now I make mostly A's with a few B's and I think 2 C's my whole time there, this will be my degree granting school. But I am totally freaked out because I know LSAC averages all undergraduate grades. I know that law schools also look at upward trend and all of that but I'm afraid that my LSAC gpa is going to be so low that no law school while even look much further in my file to see how much better I've been doing. Anyone with similar situation or some advice? Thanks.
