Wow. So i logged into the site, and it said that NONE of my finaid documents have been received. Strange, because according to the FAFSA website, my SAR was submitted January 22, 2007. Need Access was submitted March 1, 2007. WTF?!
Mine used to say that too (it still might) but I submitted on time and got my package a couple days ago. Try clicking on "accept my package" or whatever and then click on "2007-2008 school year" to see if your award is there. If not, try emailing them. I mean if they threw a little more money around, they could probably rocket up the rankings (if they wanted.) Credited!

My impression from undergrad (where I also didn't get a Perkins loan) was that they were very rare and only for those with extreme need. Not sure about that though. Hmm. I received a Perkins in undergrad. And my financial situation has only declined since then. Sooo it turns out that American mistakenly labeled my application as "late" and hasn't even reviewed it yet. It makes me nervous that they were this careless... Wow.

I know you can get a Dean's Fellowship as a 2L and 3L to work as a research assistant for a prof for, I believe $6,000/yr. I don't know about traditional work study, and I don't know about 1L. HTH.

Tag. Also, AmericanLaw10, nice to see you over here! Oh, and also, anybody get a Perkins loan that they know of? I have a subsidized and an unsubsidized federal loan listed, which I was told in an email are both Staffords. Why no Perkins??

Michigan Michigan Michigan. Bla bla bla. Here's a salient observation I found on XOXO about American WCL: "WCL is full of feminazi hippie anti-American terrorist types. BOMB WCL!!!" I LOVE IT! I'm there for sure now! Who's with me?!?!

Thanks for the write up - it has some really great information! Also, the picture with the cherry blossom tree (That's what it is, right?) is totally selling me on the area. lol... Thanks! I have no idea what kind of tree it was! http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/DC-Washington-Berkshire-Apartments.html
Makes the place out to be just awful. Noise, roaches, bad management, bad parking, no security..?? They mentioned the Berkshire in the housing overview - someone asked where to stay away from if you don't want to be overrun w/ undergrads. They said any building between WCL and the AU campus will have undergrads, particularly the Berkshire, which is a weird mix of law students, undergrads, and elderly people. Maybe that has something to do w/ the noise? But wow those reviews are AWFUL!!

Thanks WindyCity, great write-up!
Random question - is there a particular cell phone company that gets great service at American and around that area? Or does it not really matter which one?
