Law School Applications / Re: Poll: Will I get into UCLA/USC?

I'm sure it still is, but they won't just grant you admission based on your race, as many other schools seem to do.

Ok, that is ridiculous. Schools do NOT let someone in JUST because they are black/hispanic whatever. You look at the numbers, it is rarely more than a boost of .1 GPA and 2 LSAT points. Granted, that is BIG, but it is not a guaranteed in. For the record I am a white male. THAT is just ignorant.

I still think it's ridiculous. I guess lots of people do it and refuse to put down their race or when they applied. It seems dumb to me.

It gives you a good BASIC idea.

However, you have no idea how good the person's personal statement is or how good their LORs are.

One thing I do not understand is: WHY DO PEOPLE POST ACCOUNTS AND NOT PUT THEIR SCORES AND INFORMATION (like race, etc.)

The whole point of the website is to help people knowwhat their odds are of getting in. If you're not doing it to help, why post at all? It just ruins the whole point of the web site.

Neither Yale nor Vanderbilt make you mail anything in.

Can you look at your completed applications? I thought you could just see when it was sent and requested.

Pitt has a TERRIBLE Career Office. My brother goes there and they have been next to NO HELP at his finding a job. Choose a different safety.

Have a nice day.

I think that works, since research is very academic... that is me though.

No request here either, but it's only been a week for me.

How do the different schools let you know about your account? Do they all e-mail you like Virginia does?

I think it was a fair question, if not the most tactfully stated. Shouldn't say that though, I might be called a "n00b".
