Does anyone have the itinerary for MAP? I could've sworn I had it but I can't find it. I just need to know what time it starts on the 21st.

It's all about drunk chess.

Leo's has chess right?

and at least one of you plays, right?

I play chess. I'm not very good but I enjoy it.

Ditto. I wonder if there's a drunken chess master, someone who actually plays better when they're drunk. Hm... research time?

I drove from Salt Lake City in a moving van. Not awesome. The van & car trailer were $750, gas was probably $600, and I stayed at a few motels along the way. When I checked prices, the moving PODS were closer to $2500. I would have still needed to drive my car though, so the van option seemed like a better deal. I never checked ABF unfortunately.

Ugh. ABF is much more reasonable. It's going to cost me a little under $1500. A rental truck from Penske with 10% online discount and 12% AAA discount was going to cost about $650. With 6-10 mpg, I'd probably be looking at around $700 for a 2,000 mi trip (shortest route), plus hotels. With my plane ticket at around $100, it's going to end up costing me about the same.

Ubuntu is pretty sweet. I use it on my desktop, and dual boot it with XP on my Dell Latitude. Lately I have been thinking about switching to Sabayon http://www.sabayonlinux.org/

Nice. I've heard good things about Sabayon. I might try it out on my old Dell laptop. ;)

I don't promise to be good at real life Scrabble. I like to take my time deciding on my move, and, of course, I would need to go by the official Scrabble dictionary, so that words such as ZA and JO are acceptable.

So everyone plays Scrabble except me (I sux0r). Does anyone play Risk?

How about Sorry? :D

I imagine Sorry! to be the perfect board game to play drunk, but I really wouldn't know since I've never played a board game drunk. That or Boggle.

BTW, since we're on techie topics, I found pretty good video tutorial on how to make Firefox better.

There are some extensions that he installs that you don't really need if you're comfortable enough with 'about:config'.

HTH. :P

Yup. Cheaper than movers, even if gas costs upwards of $700. Trying to save as much $ as I can right now. And I didn't want to deal with a week window when my stuff might be delivered. Ugh. Also, I hope to have a little fun along the way.

(It was a hard decision.)

Er... not anymore. I hired ABF u-pack now. About the same price as doing it myself considering gas + hotels.

Anyway, all this Mac v. PC stuff has to end. Ubuntu on my Lenovo T61 ftw. ;) (Ha! I wrote this before I saw Def Leppard's comment. Two against... well, everyone, apparently.) BTW, XP has protected memory management. It may not be as strong as *nix's, but it's not that bad, actually. FWIW, I've been running XP since alpha and I've had one BSOD, and it was really the hardware's fault.

Reach: I've had two Dell laptops, both Inspirons, and they've both sucked. The worst problem is overheating. So I'm done with Dell, but I wish you luck on yours! Hopefully they've learned how to engineer a laptop that doesn't transfer as much heat as greenhouses gases currently trap in Earth's atmosphere, with the global warming and the ice caps melting and the GLAVIN! (Dells and me get along like positrons and anti-neutrinos. *snort*)

Update: I think I'ma try and sell that stupid TV and get a new one, so it'll be pretty easy. I'll only need like one or two more peeps.

I've got to clean my carpet that day.

rofl.

I'll do whatever I can to help from 600 miles away.  Do I still get pizza and beer?

Ha. If helping from 600 miles away means ordering me a new TV, then I'll order you some pizza and somehow find someone to deliver beer to your doorstep.

(Hm... business idea #137).

are you DRIVING from las vegas??????

So, who's going to be in town on the 20th? I'm going to be rolling in with a moving truck (probably on the 20th) and was hoping to get some help moving my stuff. There's not much... the only hassle is a huge old rear projection TV (what? I love relics). The usual bribe, pizza (or some other food-like substance) and beer.

PM me and let me know!
