I GOT ADMITTED TO LA VERNE LAW SCHOOL.

I am so excited. Some positive news finally.

I want to thank all of you for the advice and encouragement.

Some Questions now:

A) I am still waiting to recieve my offical letter in the mail but I was wondering how do I go about asking for $?. I don't want to sound greedy, but I definately could use some sort of financial help. How do I go about asking the school for money without sounding like a jerk? Also, for fafsa, do I just go on the website and fill out the form or am I to late for that?

B)I am starting january 8th, for part time evening. What are some things I can do from now till then to prepare myself?

C) I am going part time because i have to work. I have financial responsibilites. Is it possible to work full time or should I cut back to part time? I want to transition easily and focus on school as much as possible.

D) Lets say I want to switch to full time in the fall. Is it possible? If so, how difficult is it to accomplish?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I am just one excited guy right now!  :D

Looking at Lsn, it looks like no one with similar numbers recieved a rejection. I did notice however, that they applied for fall 2007. Can't wait to call admissions tommorow to get some answers.

Reapply to Western for Fall 07.  They probably rejected you for Spring 07 because the spring semester starts in January, which is less then 1 month and 1/2 away!  As a side note, with your numbers you should be a shoo-in with La Verne.  G'luck!

Thanks kd17, I am trying to keep my head up. I hope you are right about La Verne as I applied for spring term there as well.

This could be possible, but it is far more likely that the school just does not have any spots left for Spring term.

But if he were highly qualified for their program, wouldn't they just waitlist instead of reject?  I'm not that familiar with the spring start programs, but I'm betting there is some sort of application problem that's hurting him that he's not picking up on...

I will call admissions on monday and hopefully, they can tell me exactly what happend.

Thanks

Thx for responses guys. My ps was in good shape and I had many people including posters from here read it and they concurred. My resume was solid as well.

Just judging by your Chiashu percentage chance for Western State, the only reason they rejected you is a lack of available spots for January. There's really no way any school would be rejecting people with an 88% chance to get in this early in the cycle, if they had been considering you for both January and Fall.  You should definitely reapply for fall, as you're likely to get in (Western State appears to be a safety for you, really).

Good luck in this cycle.

is Chiasu accurate? But yah, based on other admission calculators, my chances were 60%+ for western state.

Does anyone think the rejection was due to me applying for spring term?
That probably had a lot to do with it.  They wouldn't have very many spots to give away, would they?

I understand, though... would have been nice if they'd attached a little note encouraging you to reapply for the fall term.  Good luck with the rest of your schools!

exactly. Just something to encourage me, that they have interest in me but don't have room for me. The rejection letter was vague and discouraging.

You think if I apply before the end of this month for fall 07 I will still be early?
