I ordered a T61 on 5/22 (with discrete graphics) and it hasn't shipped yet.  I don't need it till end of august and I think it was a good value so I'm just waiting.

Yea, the discrete graphics are what add the build time on the Dell.

I looked at a D630 just now and Dell's preliminary ship date is 7/7 if ordered today, so I'm not sure thats any better than waiting on a T61 if you've already ordered it.

I ordered my T61 on 5/29...buggy status checker originally said I'd get it by 8/31 but I was told via email it shipped on 6/6.

Damn I ordered 5/22 .. must depend on what parts you get.

My estimated shipping date changed from 6/8 (which was today) to 6/27.  I may just switch and get a Dell.

I think you have to know all the facts and be realistic that you might not be happy with a 40 or 50K job when you're paying almost $1k a month in debt,

That's fine, but just note the monthly payment on $150,000 of debt is more than $1,000. A lot more.

Stafford loans can be financed for 30 years, so a $150k debt at 6.8% interest comes out to $977/mo.  Not that I think thats a good idea, you end up paying more in interest, but it gets the payment down and you can refi later to 5 or 10 years once you're established.

SMU
---------------------------
Total graduates: 266
Graduates known to be employed at graduation: N/A
Starting Salaries (2005 Graduates Employed Full-time)
Private sector (25th-75th percentile): $65,000 - $110,000
Median in the private sector: $85,000
Percent in the private sector who reported salary information: 74%
Median in public service: $51,757

Not bad, although the N/A for employed at graduation is suspicious.

The school literature says 98% of the 2005 class was employed 6-9 months after graduation.

SMU?

Where are you getting your data?

I don't see what difference it makes if she's posed nude or not.  If you won't work with a woman because she's posed nude, I suggest you crawl back into whatever hole you've been in for the last oh, 100 years.  Thanks.

The difference is, as i stated repeatedly...is that it could potentially cost me clients.  End of story right there.  I mean if youre plannin on opening up your own little firm doing DUI/possession/other criminal cases where someone like her may be some sort of novelty and attract customers, go right ahead. I know in my firm, that if one of our fortune 500 clients saw that one of the junior associates made a nude video and put it online because "she wanted to do something crazy before doing the lawyer thing"...they would move on to another firm.  Simple as that. I dont know why i keep repeating myself and dont really care anymore.

This uppity attitude from someone with "Dig to get jiggy wiv mr. biggy" in his profile.  Oh yes, you are a classy person, indeed.  :)

I think you have to have actually touched a woman sometime in the last 10 years to get over this prudishness.
