General Off-Topic Board / Re: Law School or Legend of Zelda?

I had major problems in UG with Ocarina of Time on my roomates N64. At first it was a just a treat for a study break, but we all know how that turned out...

i have the special collector's edition for Gamecube; it has the original games for NES, Ocarina and Majora's Mask. Pretty much I just play Ocarina with my extra special trick controller for Gamecube. (I have small hands).

i don't have the Wii but i know people who do and the new one looks pretty damn cool.

Twilight Princess on the wii rocked my world. Esp the fishing.

Kamakura and Enoshima Island daytrip (you might even catch the cherry blossoms!).

Harajuku & Akihabara in Tokyo

Try the green tea ice cream (Macha), Squid on a stick, fried octopus, and see a baseball game if you can swing it

No More Prisons William Upski Wimsatt
Waiting for the Barbarians J. M. Coetzee
History of Sexuality: Volume 1 Michel Foucault
Homo Sacer: Sovereign Power and Bare Life Giorgio Agamben

My, My. We are a Foucault obsessed bunch - almost as much as the Rand junkies...

No idea where she got the finger puppet (to the foucault question) - but there is a fake action figure out there which she tried to order as well

My less pretentious books:

Amelia Badelia
Drummer Hoff fired it Off
Green Eggs and Ham
Some "Miracle of Life" type book my mom showed me at way too young an age
Phantom Tollbooth

The Order of Things - Michel Foucault

Haha. Wrote my thesis on him. I try not to think about it anymore!

Yeah, such a dense book. And I know "Postmodernism" (in quotes bc even Foucault himself hated the term) has significant shortcomings addressed by "Postcolonialism," but his writing is so eloquent!

Actually, I want to add another to my list:

Discipline and Punish - Michel Foucault (I liked it more than The Order Of Things, so if Order's on there, this one should be too.  :))

Haha. Yeah, it is actually kind of sad when Postmodernist, Structuralist, and Poststructuralist all have different meanings for you. I like Madness and Civiliziation - the ship of fools is my favorite little tidbit of history in it.

As a graduation present - My sister gave me a foucault finger puppet.
