Recommendations / Who's playing the waiting game?« on: November 02, 2006, 06:42:29 PM »
Who is in my boat? How many times have you nagged?
This is my important letter - so I'm playing the waiting game for my top picks. I love her to death - but this is killing me. 213
Law School Applications / Apply or wait for LoR« on: November 01, 2006, 10:00:54 AM »
Quick Question:
I have 2 LoR (one prof, one acad) in but not my most important Acad one. I want my Columbia and NYU apps to be perfect. Should I wait a few weeks to apply when it is in or just move forward and hope they don't make a decision until it comes in? Columbia has a space to list your recommenders but NYU does not. Everything else in my app package is good to go. I may be overtweaking my PS at this point. 216

Recommendations / Requesting updated LOR - email Okay?« on: October 03, 2006, 03:44:58 PM »
(Edited to remove identifying details)
I need to get in touch with my recommenders to ask for new letters for Law School plus my boss from my last job. I left a voicemail for my two profs and doubt I'll get a response (any time soon anyway). What are people's opinions on emailing and asking for revised letters - too impersonal? Definitely going to keep trying to talk to my old boss in person (she's very reliable for this sort of thing) - but am worried about gettting these in time from my profs and I don't really want them calling me (as I work in cube city and don't want to talk about law school in front of my coworkers) Thoughts? |
