I feel exactly the same way. My last day of work is June 1st and I'm slowly counting the days. I'm so ready to leave this dead-end job behind and move on to the next stage of my life!

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: St. Mary's --- San Antonio

It's a regional school with a fairly strong local reputation. If you want to practice in San Antonio, I'd say go for it - provided you get some $$. It's a tier 4 school and very expensive.

I live in Austin and know a handful of people that went to St. Mary's. A couple of them transferred to UT after their 1st year, but all of them seem to be doing quite well professionally.

As many as it takes.

Incoming 1Ls / Re: what is everyone doing for their 0L summer?

I'm going to Thailand! Maybe another trip or two... I know I should be saving money before law school, but I can't help but think that this may be my last chance to travel for a very, very long time.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: South Texas College of Law

"if you're a firm in Houston looking to hire a litigator, you pick from South Texas."

Really? I know South Texas has a good trial advocacy program, but what about U of H? It's a Tier 2 and has a better reputation overall.

If you're interested in traveling, you could teach English abroad. You probably won't make much money, but you'll be able to pay for the trip.

Law School Admissions / Re: Tulane Acceptances
« on: February 07, 2007, 02:56:22 PM »
It seems that Tulane is lowering their standards (ie accepting people like me with lower numbers and granting $$ to people with only above avg. numbers). I suspect the reason is to attract more people to the school after Katrina, but do you think that will affect their ranking?

Anyone else have this message on the status checker?

Decision mailed (We do not give decisions over the phone.)

Nope. I went complete a week or so ago.
