I like the SV vs. Shanghai. I assume you're going to show how living in both places made you diverse, not just write a paper contrasting them.
I don't like the midwest vs. nyc topic so much. The differences between SV and Shanghai will completely overshadow any differences between chicago and nyc. I'd concentrate on shanghai and sv. just my 2 cents. 18
