As a law student who's about to be buying an apartment in NYC after graduation, I've been apartment shopping for the past few months now and plese let the record reflect that I would kill for a $1200/month apartment. The sad thing is, your $325/month apartment is probably 3 times as much space as your average NYC $1200/month apartment. You're basically paying $1200/month for a dorm room out here. Tongue
Maybe its just me, but I am of the opinion that anybody who wants to live in NYC is just crazy
Denver biglaw firms are still paying in the 120-130k range with 1/2 the cost of living. However, one thing to consider is that you dont need a car in NYC. You could subtract the car payment calculation.

I don't make all that much more than that TOTAL per month and I am still getting money saved for law school (entirely supporting myself). Plus, 1200/month rent? Maybe in NYC or something. I am perfectly happy with my apartment thats $325 a month. I dont know what I would do with the space of a larger place.
