Maybe its just me, but I am of the opinion that anybody who wants to live in NYC is just crazy  ;D Denver biglaw firms are still paying in the 120-130k range with 1/2 the cost of living. However, one thing to consider is that you dont need a car in NYC. You could subtract the car payment calculation.

You are not broke if you have $1000/month to spend on food and incidentals  ::) I don't make all that much more than that TOTAL per month and I am still getting money saved for law school (entirely supporting myself). Plus, 1200/month rent? Maybe in NYC or something. I am perfectly happy with my apartment thats $325 a month. I dont know what I would do with the space of a larger place.

Honestly, all these people who say that 100k starting salaries at law firms really aren't that great are just spoiled. If you are supporting a large family, thats different- but those types appear to be the minority.

The more important question- do you have a job at all after law school? There are many who dont.

If they have a minumum GPA associated with the scholarship- run like hell.

Many times the mimium scholarship GPA is well above the curve.

My $$ offer came about 2 weeks later in a thin envelope. Based on LSN they have been handing out 1/2 tuition offers only thus far.

It really depends what you want to do.

If you want the big firm job- IMO the answer is Harvard. Yeah, Yale and Stanford are ranked higher but nothing beats Harvard name wise.

If you want to go into legal academia- then Yale is the obvious choice. They turn out more law professors than anyone else.

If you want something other than those two options, then it gets more difficult.

just to clarify... Im not whining that I "only" got a 165 and I deserve better.

I'm extremely happy with my LSAT outcome (I mean, the LSAC didnt have to correct my misbubble at all)

On my first real lsat I freaked out and got a 161

On the second I just now finnished a long saga with a misbubbling error. Long story shory, they corrected my misbubble and I got a 165. However, I did miss one question due the the misbubbling handscore and should have gotten a 166. Is that worth an addendum or would that just come off as whiny?

Also, on the retake, I completely tanked on the LG section immediatly after I disovered the misbubble (-8). My LR sections were -2 & -1 for perspective. On my previous LSAT, I scored -4 on LG. Would it be worth adding that to the addendum as well?

I really feel like I should have been in the 168-170 range (which is where I was practicing)

Due to a misbubbling and subsiquent handscore request, I didnt get my score today but a warm fuzzy email telling me my score was being held. No ETA.

Anybody know how long it takes for that type of thing to get sorted out?

Got the email today over the lunch stand. I informed my coworkers I am officially blowing this popsicle stand after this summer.

Its a great feeling to know I am definetly going to law school now  ;D
