In one of my political science classes it was mentioned that the whole diamond engagement ring was started by the DeBeers diamond company. If men are supposed to be buying diamonds, then where is the dowry?

A lot of Obama's popularity can be explained by race. For one Obama has a white mother. The fact that he has a biracial background makes white America feel like taking a chance on him. I mean Obama is definitely not going to head into the White House and start taking about reparations and such. Secondly, and this is just my opinion, but the comment that was made by one politician that Obama was the cleanest African-American or whatever is the general consensus of most white Americans, even those who will not vote for him. A great deal of his "cleanliness and ability to articulate," stems from his whiteness or caucasian background.

Then again most of the more desirable areas are always dominated by white people or as in Charlotte, ghettos that are on the brink of gentrification.

If you want to know what a sell-out is just turn on BET. Also it is the movement out of these neighborhoods by all the informed blacks that keep the community as a whole in a chaotic mess. Not saying I am planning on moving back to the ghetto but it amazes me when people have the impression that you just have to move to a white neighborhood. I dont know thats just me though...

Wow I didnt realize there was a direct correlation between buying shiny rocks and being happy. Maybe I should just forget law school and try to to become the next 50 cent.

They just sent out a form on May 11 asking everyone to inform them by June 1 whether they will be attending. If they do not respond their spot will be given to someone on the waitlist. Hope this helps.

Enagagement rings are a joke. Expensive shined rocks that are marked up to a profit of more than 500 percent a sale is something only a buffon would purchase. I'd rather use the money to put a down payment on a house, buy some stocks or something useful other than eye candy for a potential robber. Oh, which one do you want honey, the princess cut? Okay.

Still a huge waste of money. Period.
