Has anyone in California had an empty mail box yet today?
Maybe some decisions were mailed out yesterday?

Law School Admissions / Re: For those on "Hold" at Harvard
« on: February 07, 2007, 09:22:43 AM »
I am so worried I sent mine in too late. I was in the first batch of holds and only got my letter in on Saturday. I would be so sad to get dinged before it was processed/ read. One of the main things that has bothered me about this admissions process is how much it seems to penalize those of us with incredibly demanding and time consuming jobs. I just simply did not have time until Saturday to write a letter that I was happy with and get to the post office.

I would never describe downtown San Diego as awful. Parts of it are not nice, but then you have the Gaslamp District, Petco Park and alot of new development going on.

Sorry I didn't explain myself well. Downtown for me is either the trashy scary parts, or the over priced, often unfriendly Gaslamp district which feels pretentious and impersonal. I love San Diego but every time I go out in Gaslamp I regret, there are much nicer places elsewhere- like Kensington which is one of my favorite neighborhoods.

I Love living in SD also. My husband is desperate for us to say, sometiems to the poitn of trying to talk me out of law school entirely.

For my two cents I would say Downtown is awful, but Hillcrest and Balboa park are so nice. My office is a couple of minutes away from USD and Linda Vista is becoming really nice area. There is so much to do here, and the weather really can't be spoken of too highly. Good weather really does make a difference to the quality of one's life I think.

That being said, I do find the City small, too small for me to stay in my career. For every other reason though I would stay here in a heartbeat, buy a nice house in Morely Fields and start growing avocadoes.
