U of Texas - Austin / Car Dealerships?
« on: August 04, 2006, 11:53:54 AM »
Anybody who is from the Austin area/currently lives in the Austin area have a recommendation for a good car dealership? I'm looking to buy a late model pre-owned car (not a truck/SUV) and don't want to get screwed over by a bad dealership.

I stopped at $300.

My mentor just called.  I should have asked him whether the SBA books are actually usable.  I am irrational about other people's highlighting.

You're not the only one. I only bought used books once in Undergrad and the highlighting annoyed me so much I ended up returning them after the first day and getting new ones.

Most of the fights at our High School was after school over behind the 7-11.  They got into less trouble back there.

Our school had a full time police force. It could get a little rough, but it was definitely a culturally enlightening experience. Wouldn't trade it.

Was my school just a crazy cookie cutter, middle class suburban school or something? There was never a fight in my school the entire time I was in Middle and High School there (we only had one of each for the district).

Jess--Don't commit until you've tried the flagship Whole Foods.  Just sayin. ;D

I'm trying the flagship Whole Foods for this week's shopping excursion to see how it compares.

Does anybody know: If you marry a Texas resident do you then qualify for residency?

EDIT: The Residency FAQ's answered my question.

I don't think I'll be doing any of them right now... does that make me a bad LS student?

EDIT: None of the books really jumped out at me as things I want to read (and haven't already)... Capote, Shakespeare, Hawthorne... c'mon, most everyone has read them.  As for some of the others, they aren't interesting to me or I don't want to discuss them for an hour and a half w/ gunners and a prof.

I'm not planning to participate either.

Section 1 has Property, Torts, and Con Law I.  That means we put off Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, and Contracts till the Spring.

Section three puts off Torts, Crimial Law and Con Law to the Spring.

I just called to check the status of my transcript. The process actually went quite smoothly. You just give the nice young man who answers your name and EID and it took him about 10 seconds to look it up. Less than one minute from dialing to hang up!

Any body else a real morning person like me who actually hopes they got assigned to the section with 8:30 AM classes?

All of this talk about English makes me realize more and more I really am an engineer.  To think I thought I was a decent writer despite my background :), now I know I am completely lacking in the English skills department.  Hopefully, some of you will be kind enough to proofread my papers ;D.

Somehow I doubt assonance and consonance will be critical elements of our legal writing classes.  Though haven't there been some instances of witty judges issuing opinions in verse?  Or am I thinking of a West Wing episode?

BTW, pocho, have you already taken the patent bar?  I spent my weekend with my nose in the MPEP.  Good times.

I'm pretty sure it was West Wing although it may have happened in real life as well.
