My luck has simply ceased to exist.  It's neither bad nor good right now: I just haven't had any decisions in more than a month, and probably won't for a while still because I'm borderline-to-no-so-you'll-hear-in-April-or-later sort of candidate at the rest of the schools I am waiting on.

IN!!!!

Just got a really sweet call from Randy Garnicki.  Letter had been mailed out yesterday, admission packet to follow in January.  Email within the next day or two.

I'll be there next fall  ;D

As with most things, it goes back to a girl ;)

The one I happened to be chasing during senior year of high school invited me to help out with a project she was doing with a charity for autistic kids in town.

Things never worked out with her, but I really got something out of the work with the kids, and things just sort of went on from there, in college and up to now. Teaching special ed in NYC was a pretty formative experience for me as well: to whatever extent I'm a good dad, it's a lot because of what I saw when taught those kids.

How about you?

BTW - peeked at your LSN too:  I think you'll definitely get in off the GT waitlist!

In that case, congrats! :D
Hopefully you get even better news as the regular cycle progresses.  For me, I think it'll be all or nothing with EA:  either someone likes my PS and Why Penn and I'm in, or they are singularly unimpressed and I'm done (wish I could do something about my crappy GPA :()

What are you doing now? is there anything that will give you a good excuse to update your application with a substantive addition as well as a "I am very interested, and if admitted, will definitely attend" letter?
