How is softball? Do you choose your own teams?

Whats there to do in charlottesville?

Also competition? workload? Professors? where do most 1Ls work?

I don't know much about the process so I just had a quick question:
What is the purpose of a resume? Wouldn't you just be repeating everything from your applications?

Canadian Law Students / Marshall Scholarship types for Canadian Citizens?
« on: December 23, 2007, 12:00:15 PM »
Canadian Citizens can apply for Rhodes scholarships but not for Marshalls or Trumans.

Are there any similar well known scholarships for Canadians?

How much competition is there?

What is the workload like?

How are the classes assigned? How hard is it to get into the classes you want? How are the clinics?

Did you choose Columbia over NYU? If so why?

What are your peers like?

How are the facilities and the campus?

What do most CLS students do for fun?

Where are you from originally? Is it a big adjustment?

haha a lot of questions I know but you said you where bored?

GC, How accurate do you think Law school confidential is?

Also, I've heard diff things about Ivy briefs, how would you compare it to 1L?

Finally, did you find "should you be a lawyer" helpful? Or is it just commmon sense such as you shouldn't be a lawyer just because 1. You like to argue 2. You don't know what else to do etc.

What do most 1Ls do for their summer jobs?

Side question: What are the most prestigious law firms in Dallas (ie Watchell and Cravath in New York)

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: NYU 1L answering questions

thanks and no I don't have any particular concerns just trying to get a general feel, few more questions I thought of:

1. How competitive are NYU students compared to other law schools (of course this could be based on anecdotal evidence since you are not attending any other law schools) What is the workload like, is it more/less rigorous than say Columbia or Chicago. Is there a lot of group studying or is it done mostly on an individual basis? Are your peers friendly/social? Do you see them outside of class very often?

2. How is NYU for Litigation or Corporate law?

3. Im not sure if you'll know this one because you're a 1L but how hard is it to get into classes you want/clinics your second and third year?

1. Do they assign you to professors in your first year or do you get to pick? How are your profs so far? How often do you get called on and is it bad?

2. Besides Public interest, what are NYUs other strengths/ places where you feel it enjoys a better rep than columbia?

3. How helpful are career services? Edit: Also what are your goals after law school and do you feel NYU is helpful in helping you reach your goals?

4. Do you like the Law schools design? does the fact that there is no "campus" bother you? how are the facilities? How is the village? What do the law students generally do for fun?
