I have a 3.87 from UCLA.  Its my experience that the GPA usually doesn't mean poop!  The LSAT score is what you should be worried about.

The only time I have seen it make a difference is when the school is trying to recruit minorities.  For example if a schoo is under-represented by an ethnic group and a candidate has a lower LSAT than they are looking for, they might consider the person if their GPA was outstanding.

Co to UC Davis if you can get in.

The fees are MUCH lower than private schools and you can usually get a regent's scholarship!

Try to avoid expensive private schools if you can.  (When I graduate I'll have more than 100,000 in loans!)

You look like a "white guy."

Maybe they already had that block filled?

The most obnoxios I received were from USC and (a couple months later) from Pepperdine.

I swear I got my rejection letter from USC the same week I mailed it out!!!!  (Maybe they didn't want UCLA grads!)  I don't recall what it said --- but I was shocked at how fast it came!!

My rejection letter from Pepperdine was rediculess.  It mentioned that the school only admits students of the highest accademic standards!  What horse-poop!  I have a 3.87 GPA in a very difficult undergrad major!

Both of those schools cane ____ themselves!

I'm just curious if anybody out there is considering UWLA?

If you are --- be warned!!!  (I transfered out of there as fast as I could!!!)  The campus is in the middle of South Central Los Angeles (they have ben sharing it with a High School --- even though they claim to be moving).  The people at the San Fernando Valley campus don't know where their fall classes will be held!  Apparently they could not pay the rent and "vanished" from their Valley location in the course of a week!  (Some people drove by and said that the law books from the library were being thrown away and were in dumpsters!)

This place is REALLY BAD!!!  Don't be fooled by the "low tuition" --- there is no promise that the tuition won't be raised after you get there!!  And there is no promise that the school will be there at the end of the year!

Before I was in law school I heard that they will take applications until the week before law school starts.  So, I went through the hassle of DRIVING dowm to get my application and fee in to them.

On the Friday before law school was going to start I still hadn't heard anything.  Those bastards told me they could not give me the answer over the phone and I needed to DRIVE (about 200 miles!!!) to the school --- and that I'd be glad I did.   I got to the school AND THE LETTER WAS NOT READY!!!  At 4:30 I (and about 10 others who had been given the same happy horse-sh$t) got our "letters" --- and none of us were accepted (even though some had VERY HIGH LSATS).

I have since been told that Whittier had their fall class selected munths before and accepts last minute applications merely to fill their bank accounts!!!!  Be warned!!!
