US schools talk about valuing diversity of the student body. Is it mostly for PR or will it really add some points to a good story-teller?
What I have to sell is a history of fighting poverty while growing up in a closed city of a totalitarian country, suffering a severe personal injury caused by a hate crime against me. Large portions of the epic will be supported by great references from professors.
My undergraduate degree is in law (possible in my country) with a GPA of 4.0. English is not my 1st or 2nd language that's why I don't hope to score as high on LSAT as some of you guys.
If my LSAT score is slightly lower (let's say 160) than median at the school to which I'll apply (163), will being a minority make up for some of it? How much are personal statements and references worth against LSAT scores?
Thank you very much!
