It does depend what you want to do.. And if you are instate the tuition is realy nice at Temple, but if you hate city life go to Villanova, and if you are rich or don't mind the debt. These school are very similar, i am amazed also how many friends of mine decided to pay more money to go to villanova... they still can't explain it other than they don't like the city and are whitebread, hehe.

Mainly look for people that choose one school over the other and ask why.. but in the end, visit both school and go where you are most comfortable.. Still tough choice though

Graduating with honors from Temple is graduating without bullet wounds. It's no wonder your friends are willing to pay extra to be in a nice suburban area. That said, I have friends at Temple Law who love it.

Ehhhh i think the crime rate and rumors are overrated... Sure things can happend, but thing can happen anywhere in Philly, including your part of town!! haha

How are you final treating you?? I'm reading up on conlaw now.. It is so annoying, but worth 4 credits so I got to kick ass!! I just got this new program that actually reads my outline outloud... so i can conserve reading energy and use a different hearing sense... if your board check out the site... http://www.naturalreaders.com/

Anyway... i personally think the Villanova although is nice.. it can get boring at times but that is just surberbia for you.. They only have a couple of places to go and everything is all spread out.. I like to be in the center of things..Right now i'm in downtown indianapolis love it..

Finals are going well. Just Crim Law left and I have it in the morning (I should be done by now, but a wedding and Bat Mitzvah got in the way). Not doing the writing competition since I was already on a journal this year and was selected for the board of that journal (though I hope this isn't the wrong decision and my dangerously low prestige due to lack of Law Review doesn't pwn me at OCR).

Good luck with Con and the rest of your 1L year dude! We're almost 2Ls!

my dog died in november.  i'm still mourning.

 :'(

my dog is 11 and i'm already dreading that day.  i think i'm going to get another my 3L year so that it won't be quite as hard... but she's my first dog, so it will still be awful...

yay, towelie, i want you to get a dog!  she can play with bhakti!

and ps, where were you today?  tennis?
and pps, where were you last night?  btw, the drunken phone call was from me.  i forgot my phone so i had to use our mutual friends.

I haven't taken crim yet! My bro's wedding, coupled with my sister's bat mitzvah etc. etc. I'm inside on this beautiful day studying. I was out from like 6pm-10pm last night at continental, but you weren't there. Blah!

Y'all, finding an apartment from 3000 miles away is HARD.   >:(

Yeah, I feel you. I had to find an apartment from Arizona and I signed my lease sort of sight unseen (my friend lived in the building years earlier).

It sucks looking for places to live. Let me know if you need some help, but I'd go through some of the bigger realtors (allan domb, michael singer, etc).

Call him Towelie!   ;D

That's not a bad idea... Especially if he wonders around aimlessly...

I'm thinking about getting a dog. It would just mean having to move. And no contiki, you cannot name it. Sorry haha. But if you come up with a good name I'd use it.  ;)

Where should I go next fall? / Re: NYU v. UCLA
« on: May 02, 2007, 01:59:28 AM »
The UCLA $75k deal is sweet if you KNOW you want to work in California when you graduate. Not so good if you have other aspirations (it is not nearly as portable as an NYU law degree).

That's tough. If you don't take the money, go to NYU, and return to LA you will be out $75K+ but if you go to UCLA and decide you don't want to live in California anymore you  also could be in trouble. Tough call.

What people do on their own time without hurting anyone else is really their own business, and I think/hope most people would agree. That being said, getting caught in public using illegal substances would probably be a bad idea if your law firm found out, very likely not the sort of attention they would want tied to their name.

Agreed.

Do you ever lift with your back instead of your legs?

Why would you abuse your body like that?

Smoking weed is not absuing your body. In fact, for some people (i.e. people with certain kinds of chronic disorders), it can actually help relieve symptons. Anyways read: http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/05/26/MNGAKJ2S481.DTL&type=science for a study on how pot smoking is not related to lung cancer (in fact, scientists found that smoking marijuana might help prevent lung cancer). And if you are worried about the toxins from smoking marijuana, a vaporizer would be the best and healthiest way to go: http://www.canorml.org/healthfacts/vaporizerstudy2.html.

In any event, if you go to the bar to have a drink, you have no right asking why someone would abuse their body, as alcoholic causes more deaths and more damage to your body than marijuana. Just because it is legal doesn't make it healthy or healthier.
