Law School Admissions / Re: LOR Question

Thanks, I actually have 3 very strong letters from professors that I've done extensive classwork/outside research with, so this letter would indeed be a supplement.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but most schools accept a max of 4 letters, right?

Thanks for the input, I know that he will be able to provide some very positive and helpful information about me, I was just nervous because of all the talk of having professors write all the letters if possible (I think my pre-law advisor is a dumbass though, so I think I'll stick to advice here haha)

Thanks again!

Law School Admissions / LOR Question

Hey, I will be applying to Duke in the fall amongst many other schools, and I had a LOR question.

This past semester I had a full-time internship with the US Attorney's Office in DC where my mentor was a graduate of Duke Law.  Under normal "intern circumstances" I would assume that these kinds of bosses are not prime LOR writers when you have easily accessible academic references.  HOWEVER, I worked very closely with this particular prosecutor, doing alot of work that is uncommon for pre-law school interns to be doing (writing motions, helping with jury selection at the bench, etc...).  Would you think that this along with the fact that he is a Duke graduate would warrant a LOR from him (only for Duke).  I only ask because I've read many p[laces that LORs from alumn/important people don't usually help.

Haha why thank you everyone, I look forward to spending the next excruciating week or two with you, after which I will undoubtedly be unable to tear myself from the site and go back to doing work.  Good times around the bend...

I brought a snack in a brown paper bag the day of the test, hoping there would be somewhere to put it down since it wasnt allowed in the test room.

On the bag, which I left in the hallway, I wrote: "If you touch this, I will punch you.  If I do not punch you, you will not have touched this."  I felt really proud of myself at the time hahaha
