This would be a hilariously entertaining post.

Stop pooping on the party, people.

I would generally agree the UIUC would be the better choice. The only thing you might consider is what happens if you are not in the top 40% of UIUC's class. There cut-off for BIGLAW might be a bit higher/lower, but it probably is around there. At Kent you have more opportunities to work PT and secure employment, rather than go exclusively through OCI.

The jobs one will get at OCI not in the top 40% (smaller firms) or through massmailing small/mid firms will 95% of the time beat any PT cultivation at Kent.

Where do you want to work?

If Chicago, the answer is UIUC, without question...at all.  Seriously.

UIUC wins in every way, unless you want to work in southern Florida or weather is a major factor for you.  UI-UC is superior in terms of Big Law placement, clerkship placement, cost (apparently based on your "$$$" indicators) and prestige.

This is correct.  There would be zero reason to go to Kent in this case, especially considering you have the same $$$ at UIUC but guaranteed.

The only way you should consider going to Miami is if you want to work in FL

The problem with your case is that you didn't really rely on the scholarship offer.

Yup.

Also, learn how to spell "because."  It will come in useful during law school  ;)

If I was going/went to Cornell, I'd be a little peeved at that sentiment too.

I had little interest in Cornell, but that was because I was from Florida. Vandy had more appeal to me because of location/weather. HOWEVER, that's only me. I would guess that a lot of applicants from up North would prefer Cornell and wouldn't mind the weather/location. It's just a matter of personal preference....there's no right or wrong.

And the whole go to law school based on the attractiveness of the undergrads?  Honestly?

There's a correlation between hot people and good employment prospects.

Well let me tell you, then ASU should have the best f-ing placement in the world.
