Just now, while daydreaming about attending UMich, I got a phone call from area code 734! I'm sure the excitement was evident in my voice when I answered. Too bad it was Art Van Furniture. They're probably thinking, "Gosh, he's really excited about that new sofa." GAH!

Law School Applications / Re: UMich: write an optional essay?« on: February 06, 2008, 01:45:06 PM »your application is already complete and is being reviewed. i think it's a bad idea to submit more materials at this juncture. you've only been complete for a few weeks. if you send in another essay, they'll have to pull your app from the pile, match it up with your new materials, and then put it BACK in the pile...huge hassle, it's going to slow up your app, you're being paranoid, it's not worth it. save the additional essay in case you're waitlisted. LoveButton, I just posted in another thread that the waiting game has left me on the verge of submitting additional materials to UMich. Your wise words have pulled me back from the ledge...for now. Thanks!

I realize I'll likely be contributing to the back-log, but I don't think I can resist sending in an LOCI...the wait-and-see approach is driving me crazy! (Even if I've only been complete since 1/14)

I would love to start at Michigan this summer...really, anytime!
But I think the Summer Start is a great option for the same reasons listed by utilitarianjac. Also, it seems particularly appealing for individuals not straight out of undergrad...can't speak for everyone, but this is definitely true for me.

Saw the status checker change to decision but wasn't expecting a phone call. Only my second decision so far, so I'm hoping this is a good sign for more to come in the month of February. 50
