I still maintain that she did not value her own life, so neither should we.

& i think that's what makes her death sad.  i feel bad for people who don't value their own lives, because i feel like they have a whole in their soul that cannot be repaired by any means.

i think she may have killed herself on purpose "by accident".

She OD'd....

that's why i think she took herself out on purpose "by accident".

for those of us that dont want kids and there is an "accident", what r ur plans?
are you "choosing" not to have kids...apparently to Highway, it's not a choice, it means that you couldn't find anyone to have kids with.   :D

i do not want them at all, but accidents happen.

and as a guy, i dont even have any real options until the girl tells me what her palns are.
what about a vasectomy?  that's a good option for you.  then you won't have to worry about accidents or the girl's plans.  think about it.  i heard that it's a very safe procedure & the men that i know who have had it done said that it was one of the best decisions they ever made. granted it's only 2 men.
hey blue,  have you looked into to this yet?
it's definitely something to consider.

yanks, you're right, but it's heavily dependent on what you're trying to accomplish.

Or, alternatively, you could just react terribly to complex carbs like me.  It sucks, but I have to avoid the stuff.

ADL:  How old is your son?

13.  he's on the b-ball team in school & the practice 3x a wk, so he's starting to get into the routine of working out.
he's also feeling awkward (remember being 13?) & thinks he needs to bulk up b/c he thinks he's too skinny.
he' 5'6" & about 111.

That's fine.  You should get someone to design a program for him, though.  Often when you're young, you want to lift too heavy too fast.  It's going to put tremendous stress on his joints and could cause chronic injury.  But if it's done right, it'll do him a world of good.

i think he's fine too.  i tell him that he probably has the body type he has b/c of his parents (we're both tall & slim).
i know a personal trainer, i'll ask him what type of program (if any) my son should follow.  & i'll definitely ask for myself too.  i really need it.

so true!  i never worried about my weight & even considered myself in shape up until a 1 1/2 yr ago.  i notice that it's ALOT to put on a couple of pounds & it's harder to get rid.  right now, i'm @ the weight i'm supposed to be for me height.  which actually looks pretty good (i have boobs now) but, i notice that i'm starting to jiggle more.  i don't like that.
the problem w/me is that i hate gyms & i'm a warm weather person.  so during the warmer mos, i have no problem walking a few miles or riding a bike.  as soon as it gets cold, i don't want to go out & do anything.

I'm glad that's a plus for you, because if I had them it would be a terrible thing.  ;D

Seriously, I hate gyms too. I run outside, and I have a treadmill I use when I absolutely have to, but I don't like it. Our loft is dominated by my weightlifting equipment that I bought specifically so I wouldn't have to go to the gym. It's too much trouble, and I don't like people watching me except my kids. We usually have deep, philosophical conversations while I lift.
that's coo1!  my son is getting into weightlifting & i bought a set of weights for him.  after i pick them up, i think i'll start training w/him.

unless it just made the weather warmer with no other bad side effects, id like it then...

people who point to cold temps (like we're having having here in NY) & say "see, there's no such thing as global warming!"  stupid idiots!!

Quick post cuz I gotta run to work:

I lost 80 pounds by counting calories, lifting weights and walking/running (started w/ walking, ran when I could do so without killing myself). I started at 1500 calories per day but was losing 3 pounds a week and that didn't seem healthy, so I bumped it up to 1800. I started walking 3 miles a day and eventually was up to running about 15+ miles per week. I was down to 168 at 5'10", 9% body fat and killer abs. That takes a ton of time to keep up when you're over 30 - your body fights you all the way. Some of it's come back on - not too much though.

Later!
