Law School Admissions / help me decide where to apply, please!
« on: October 02, 2006, 08:26:45 AM »
I have a 3.89, 165, and am a TX resident.

For reaches, I'm applying to Michigan, Duke, and Georgetown

For attainables, I'm applying to Texas, Vanderbilt, William & Mary and ?

For safety, I'm applying to SMU, UH, Baylor

I want to apply to one more attainable, something like Boston/George Washington/Washington & Lee

With my numbers, does this list make sense? Any advice on the other "attainable" I should apply to?

Law School Admissions / LOR part 2
« on: September 06, 2006, 02:45:05 PM »
I asked the other day about how to correct my mistake of sending in a general LOR form with a targeted letter.  Instead of having the writer rewrite the letter and resubmit with a targeted form, couldn't I just direct the letters to every school I'm sending apps to.  That way, I could make sure that that "targeted" letter only goes to one school and doesn't get sent to any other?

Law School Admissions / Choosing the right law school... HELP!
« on: August 04, 2006, 08:30:56 AM »
Here is my situation.  I have a 3.9/165, texas resident.  My top two schools are Texas and SMU. Obviously, if I don't get into UT, then this whole situation won't even matter.  How important is choosing a law school based on ranking? Texas is ranked alot higher than SMU, but after visiting SMU and living in Austin my whole life, I truly feel SMU would be a better fit for me, plus I should get some sort of scholarship offer from them according to the admissions director.  HELP!

taking a visit to a law school next wednesday.
