Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / Re: Washburn info?
« on: November 05, 2012, 10:48:27 AM »
I live in Kansas, and can tell you that Topeka is a boring town. Washburn is a good school however, if you want to practice law in Kansas. The legal field isn't hurting quite as much as the bigger cities throughout the country either. If you can stomach a small, boring town in the midwest for three years, go for it. You could always move to Wichita or Kansas City after school. Both of those are great cities to live in.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: LSAT prep course?
« on: October 30, 2012, 10:33:13 AM »
I took Testmasters because I heard they were the best, and I am so glad I did. I felt really confident about the LSAT this October, HOWEVER I haven't gotten my score back yet  :P
I do know that they have a score increase guarantee, but I'm not entirely sure how that works. I have heard from several people that Kaplan courses are inferior to many others though. My recommendation is Testmasters. If you do all of the homework (which is A LOT) you will do well. Period.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Entertainment/Media Law Schools
« on: October 29, 2012, 03:25:18 PM »
My focus is still up in the air. It will depend on what school I choose to attend. I'm applying in Boston, New York, DC, and LA, so entertainment is still on my list of interests. I realize the courses are of little importance now and will choose a school and focus based on scholarship options and opportunity. At this point I'm just waiting on my LSAT score from earlier this month. Damn you Hurricane Sandy.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Is a Prep Course worth it for me?
« on: August 03, 2012, 11:21:12 AM »
Morganb, perhaps traditional LSAT classes are designed for people whom wouldn’t otherwise study the LSAT? That’s not to say they wouldn’t help everyone, but perhaps they’re not designed for people like you...? Just a thought.

peddling your prep course here going well?

I would recommend the Nigerian LSAT prep class in which you will also inherit a million dollars.

This conversation took a strange turn at some point. I think I'll just take my chances. Thanks?

I'm starting to wonder this myself. My numbers are similar to yours. Some LSAT prep classes guarantee a certain score increase, but I'm being told that is soley because of the number of practice tests you are required to take in the class forcing experience on you. If I take 20 practice tests over the next three months on my own, all the while reading and practicing individual sections, will I get just as good of an increase? I would hate to throw away that amount of money on something I could have done myself.

I'm in the exact same situation. I ace every other section but studied this one the most. It did me little good.  I'm definitely gonna get the Logical Reasoning Bible and maybe take an online course to retake in October. Good luck to you!

Awesome I will check into that.

For me I know I will have to travel like 30 minutes to get to itm, but thats okay! :)

when are you taking the LSAT

I'll be taking the October LSAT. I'm going to start the online Princeton Review course at the end of this month I think. You get more 1-on-1 interaction with  their online live class. Good luck to you!

I have heard Testmasters is the best by far.

Unfortunately I live in a small city and cannot take a live class. Their online class isn't live either, just some instructional videos. Seems like I'm kind of screwed.
