LSAC and LSDAS / Re: GPA question
« on: June 06, 2006, 06:19:52 PM »
I have been lurking for a few weeks while I was putting my application together.  Everyone has been great about offering advice and sharing experiences.  This is a great resource for everyone.

My GPA has just been calculated, and I am not too happy.

I have a 3.70 from my degree granting school.  However, when my first school's grades are factored in, I have a 2.99.  That's a pretty huge drop.  Over 80% of my classes were taken at my degree granting instituion.

Question:  Other than scoring a 180 on the lsat, what are my options now?  I have pretty decent work experience and other soft factors.  Are there any schools that might look more towards the upward trend?

Any advice/thoughts would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Apply to schools based on your 3.7 and whatever LSAT score you get. Many schools will only consider the 2.99 (because, frankly, that's all USNWR cares about), but you may find a school or two that looks passed it and sees you have achieved much since your original bad marks and they will weigh your LSAT more.

Thanks Towlie. I will proceed accordingly.
