Detroit Mercy / Re: UDM fall 2006???

Hey guys, thanks for all the info about the school and it's location. 3 stories sounds kinda small, I'm glad that everyone seems very friendly though. Unfortunately I'll only be taking one class at UDM, the majority of my classes will be at Windsor for 1L of the jd/llb program. :)

Wow great post, if I participate in the jd/llb program I've been accepted to I'll be living in Windsor anyway since that's where most of my classes will be, but it's great to hear about the living areas down there. Grosse Point eh? Our future neighborhood when we become attorneys maybe? LOL.

Pursuing an LLM / Re: Reasons for LLM
« on: May 24, 2006, 02:37:21 AM »
I'm looking into studying law in France, I'll get me maitrise en droit I and then go on to do my advanced maitrise II with a specialization in corporate law (DESS-DJCE) over there. But I def want to do tax internationally so I'll be heading for an LLM right after my 4 years.

Pursuing an LLM / Re: Any LL.M. programs accept non-ABA grads?

Obviously, I'll be studying law in France and coming back here to do my LLM (hopefully from NYU's Tax program), so short answer: Yes, they do accept non-ABA grads.
If you meant pursuing an LLM after doing a non-ABA course within America I would assume it is a yes as well. Remember that LLM programs are not approved by the ABA anyway. I think even a few schools grant LLMs in exceptional circumstances to those that don't have a law degree anyway.

Hey everyone,

I'm still deciding between Vermont's JD/DESS-DJCE with Cergy-Pontose or UDM's JD/LLB with Windsor. Hopefully I'll come up with the decision by the end of the week, it'd be great to meet some of you!

I thought that as well, I saw some confusing posts from transfers so I wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Anyone accepted into it? I am and am trying to make my decision between this program and Vermont Law's JD/DESS_DJCE with Cergy-Pontoise.

Current Law Students / Re: I AM A LAW CHOOL STUDENT IN CHINA

I'm an American student going to study law in France.

For example if 1L students were divided into 3 sections of say 70 students, would your rank be within that section or out of the entire 210?

Transferring / Which is better to transfer from: UDM or Vermont?
« on: May 21, 2006, 01:02:09 AM »
With UDM I'm already accepted to their dual JD/LLB program with the University of Windsor (3 yr program and I'll be a part of a select group of 50)and with Vermont Law I plan on completing their JD/DESS-DJCE with Cergy-Pontoise (4 yr program). Plus Vermont is known for their excellent environmental and international law program.

My question is that my first priority will be to transfer but ultimately if I can't or decide against it, which would school would you recommend going to. Also which school would be "better" to transfer from in terms of being accepted into a tier 1?
