P, you may be in for a wait with those Sunday morning talk shows:
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/palin-media-a-2.html
"Sarah Palin won't subject herself to any tough questions from reporters 'until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference.'"
Deference? Who does she think she is, the Grand Poobah?
I say throw her to Mike Wallace.
Would that be like the TV news equivalent of "harpooning" or more along the lines of "dolphin safe tuna"?

Can anyone think of a movie where hackers save the world or do something heroic and catch the bad guys using their computers and their big ol' brains alone? There must be lots like that, right?
You mean like . . . Hackers? Hackers
(that's the title)
Yeah... That's the only one I could think of. I was hoping for something slightly less far-fetched, but was coming up short.
ETA: But thanks!
Actually, as I think about it, it doesn't have to be hackers. I'm just looking for a video clip of people using computers to solve crimes.
You mean like . . . War Games? Or certain bits of Real Genius? Goldeneye? Most of the "CSI" canon? ETA: Does it have to be something a computer can actually do?

aren't we supposed to like Chris Brown? I should preview some tracks.
Quality dancer, the music's pretty boring, IMO.

Please allow me also to take a moment out to register my appreciation of the fact that our "your dad" meme has taken on such a rich life.

IOUN, I am thinking of applying to my city's legal department. Out of 14 divisions of the law department, three deal solely with police issues: one for police brutality cases, one for pattern and practice, and one for dealing with constitutional challenges to police ordinances like loitering.
Why ashamed face? Oh . . . wait . . . which side would you be on?

Hm. Last time I dealt with boning it was for my prom dress. Which my mom made. She's an amazing seamstress, in the pattern-following way, not the design-y way. I would probably try to bust out a seamripper and pull the boning out, and then call her to fix the dress when I screwed it up.
And yes, it's for a class. It makes about as much sense to me as the section on synthetic derivatives in my securities book.
Okay! I cut them out and it is like fifty times more comfortable. And so far I do not appear to have destroyed anything. w00t!
And yes, it is a bit prommy
ETA: Upon further contemplation, it may pretty much define the kind-of-embarrassingly-prommy-but cute-anyway dress. It involves tulle, satin pleats, and straplessness But I swear it's not hideous!
ETA 2: I guess I'll let y'all be the judges of that:

I may have been wooed by the extreme sale at BCBG (76% off!), but I still think it's kind of cute. In a prommy way.
Ok, fair enough. You're a brave lady. (It's pretty - I couldn't wear it in a million years.)

You know what I meant, biatch.
I'm not really sure it matters - your dad likes it, and that's good enough for me.
runs in the family, really.
I see what you did there.
