Law School Applications / Question on applying early.
« on: June 27, 2006, 11:53:04 AM »
Common advice on this board is that it makes a huge difference to get your apps in early, especially if you have borderline numbers. I am taking the LSAT in September, and by that time should have all other parts of my applications complete. I have a 3.4 and will hopefully be around 168-172 on the LSAT. My question is this, since I am somewhat of a splitter and I won't have my score until late October...will that be early enough to have a good chance at top schools or should I wait until the following year and get my apps in at the earliest possible date?

Law School Applications / Dean's Certification
« on: May 23, 2006, 09:50:25 AM »
I hate to sound like a moron...but what is the Dean's Certification? I assume this is something that is required for applications as I have now seen it mentioned several times on the board. How do I go about getting it and how long does it take?

I have read some posts regarding grade inflation. What schools in particular have a reputation for high grade inflation for Under Grad?

Law School Applications / Question regarding LOR
« on: May 04, 2006, 04:32:58 PM »
This is probably a stupid question but I am very new to the application process. Can I go ahead and start getting my LOR from teachers before the applications for Fall 2007 admission are released? I assume that some schools will have specific forms for the LOR so getting them this early might be a waste of time. Any advice is appreciated.

Studying for the LSAT / Question Re: PowerScore
« on: May 03, 2006, 04:00:32 PM »
I signed up today to take the Full PowerScore LSAT class in preparation for the September 30 LSAT. However, I still have 3 months before August to study on my own. My question is, does it make sense to order the PowerScore bibles and study them before taking the class, or will the bibles be the material that is covered during the course?

Law School Applications / Where Do I Stand?
« on: May 03, 2006, 03:56:08 PM »
I just wanted to get some opinions from people on the board about where I might stand in regards to Law School. I have a 3.4 GPA in Business Administration from a top-5 undergraduate business program (graduated in May 05). I have worked for the past year as a business analyst at a fortune 10 company, so I have great work experience (I plan on applying for Fall 2007 admission to Law School so will work for one more year). I have signed up to take the PowerScore full LSAT course beginning in August (of course will study on my own up until the class) and have registered for the September 30 LSAT. I realize that my GPA is not extremely competitive, but I just wonder what you all think my chances are of getting into a top 20 law school, and what range of scores I'll need to fall in on the LSAT. Thanks in advance.
