Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / UNC Waitlist
« on: July 03, 2008, 07:15:07 AM »
I'm on the waitlist at UNC and at this point it is the only school I'm considering. So, this is a friendly request for anyone accepted at UNC or on the waitlist that know they won't be attending to withdraw and open up some spots!!!  :)

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / UNC Waitlist
« on: April 24, 2008, 07:53:09 AM »
Anyone know anything about the UNC wait list. Do they usually let a lot of people in off the wait list? UNC is my first choice...I've sent a few letters of continued interest stating that I would definitely attend if admitted, and I'm also trying to get an additional letter of recommendation sent in. Any other advice?

Choosing the Right Law School / Tulane
« on: March 21, 2008, 06:02:40 AM »
My online status at Tulane has switched to "Decision has been made". I remember reading somewhere that if admitted, the status checker said "Congratulations, etc" or something along those lines. Has anyone been admitted to Tulane with a status of "Decision has been made"? I have not received an email yet, but went to decision yesterday (3/20). I'm assuming that I've been rejected since admits receive an email.

I'd like to send a letter of continued interest to a few schools I haven't heard from yet. I'm not quite sure what to say in this letter. Is anyone willing to share one that they wrote?

I have a 159 LSAT and a 3.4 GPA, have residence in NC, and 2 years work experience at a large corporation. Do I have a decent shot at getting into UNC?

Law School Admissions / URM question
« on: September 11, 2006, 11:51:04 AM »
I have a friend who is considering applying to law school. His parents are Brazilian and he was born in Brazil, but he has lived his entire life in the US. Would he qualify as a URM?

Law School Admissions / LOR from a former dean of admissions
« on: August 24, 2006, 01:19:49 PM »
A family friend is the former dean of admissions at a T-14 law school. Would a LOR from this person help increase my chance of admission?

I am drafting an email to a professor to ask for a LOR. I feel at this point, email is the best method of contact because it's been a few years since I was in this professor's class. Does anyone have an example of an email they used for this purpose? If not, anyone have suggestions on how to phrase the email?
