I'm at another top 10, but ranked lower than those two (should be easy to figure out). I just started, but I think I want to be back in California next year for numerous personal reasons. Any tips on what I need to transfer?
I know a guy who transferred here (Boalt) from Michigan. I don't know his class ranking, but it didn't seem like a huge deal. I'd imagine you probably have to be at least somewhere in the top half of your class to transfer to a peer school (makes sense, right?). Don't know if that's helpful, but people definitely do it!

let's say you end up graduating from an HYSCC with latin honors, but summered and spent your first post-grad year or two working at a mid-sized law firm, then clerk for a year or two... is it somewhat easier to get a V10 than if you tried getting one of those as a mediocre-GPA'ed 1L? (clearly i am talking about a hypothetical "friend" of mine.)
This scenario doesn't make any sense. Typically you clerk right out of school, if at all, and it is looked on as favorable because you just saved X biglaw firm a ton of money in training and learned a shitton on your own. Then, typically after a couple years of biglaw people move to smaller/midsize firms or government (basically just do biglaw because working a prestigious firm had great exit options. It really makes no sense to go to a mid-size firm, then clerk, and then go to biglaw.

word of caution: season 2 is not as good as season 1. things get good again in 3, then great in 4. 5 is kind of meh.
Yeah, I bailed on the second half of season 2 and don't really regret it. I actually like 3 better than 4, but otherwise agree with this assessment.
Remember how long ago red. and P and hank and everyone were talking about this show?
Wow, that takes me back.

Honestly, I tuned out everything. It got to be too much. I couldn't handle day after day of lay-offs, bad news, and no-offers. I now spend most of my time on a relationship discussion forum and wet canvas, when I feel like surfing that sort of thing.
Goaliechica: good luck with the deadline. I'm sure you'll do well.
Thanks, Wally. And that sounds sensible and emotionally healthy. I support it! Hope all is well in the Windy City.

For some people.
I mean, I guess I just meant it's a different kind of stress. I don't even know what I meant. Never mind.

3Ls have stress?
Yes. Surely you know some? It is better than 2L, though, no doubt about that. I just have my first proper deadline and haven't really prepared for it and have a long night ahead of me all of a sudden.
