Are you suggesting that the standard for a waitress or chef is to make more than 45k? With a straight face? Most families have two incomes, and still median around 45k in this country, unless I'm mistaken.
And are you also suggesting that people without high school diploma's average over 45k?
You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Waiters make more than $3000 waiting tables, full time. Largely tax free. That is in fact, more like 50k. Chefs get paid about same, good chefs get paid more than waiters.
Obviously, if they make 3k a month, they are not going to put 3k on their tax return. Oh, not to mention many waiters who make 50k/year receives government welfare, because they are so 'poor'.
Does the fact that no waitress/waiter/bartender I know makes anywhere near 40k affect your opinion? Or, as QueenCruella said, the fact that data seems to make you look like you have no idea what you're talking about? Or are you just going to stick by you 'high school dropouts make 45k and just don't report it' story?
