Booked flights and hotels today.  Can't wait to free myself from the wintry northeast.  This is "spring" break?

Probably need to see the campus for myself and hear from where I'm still pending before I can solidify plans...but it's looking like I'm "Stanford Bound!"

32
um...should I be doing any of this if I have been complete since early November and haven't been held?

33
Honestly, I would love a hold.  I have heard nothing since early November and any correspondence, even hold or ding, would be a breath of fresh air.  I just would like to know already.

34
man, has harvard sent out ANY love at all this week?

No e-mail from a Stanford prof asking to chat. I was admitted quite a while after you were, so maybe I'll get an e-mail sometime soon?

No mail after the first package (assuming you don't count the semi-form-letter from Dean Kramer).

I was expecting a little more loving from Stanford. I guess they're mainly relying on the California sun to steal away most of their cross-admits from Harvard and Yale.

yeah, i would have figured the same.  but, i guess the way they look at it, maybe they feel that they really don't need to compete with any other schools.  i feel like i get mail from michigan every day.

Anyone else get an e-mail from an SLS prof looking to chat on the phone today?  Can't tell if it is a form letter or not.

To make matters worse, I just got a scholarship offer from Northwestern. $90K per year.

And I was about to withdraw tonight ... now I don't know what to do.  :-\ Things have gotten confusing recently ...

90K per year?  Now, that's an offer you can't refuse.

(90K total? 9K per?)

Got the acceptance packet too.  I'm psyched as all hell but it really confounds a decision for a guy with an East coast bias that thought he was going out to Stanford.

if you really like other aspects of columbia, i hope rank/reputation isn't the thing throwing you-- there's not a thing wrong with taking CLS over stanford that would make you regret it later, IMO.

congrats to all the acceptees on the thread!

thanks lex.  yeah, i'd have no problem going to cls over stanford especially with my ties to nyc.  i'll go out and take a look at palo alto to be sure, though.

Well ... I have a strong West Coast but never thought I'd get into Columbia, so never considered NY. We're kinda in the same boat. This upsets things. But in a good way. I think.

Yeah, going to have to visit before any decisions are made.  But, I can think of a letter or two that can really simplify things.
