Studying for the LSAT / Based on past tests.......
« on: June 22, 2006, 10:59:30 AM »
is it a reasonable assumption that we will have our scores on the 30th? I ask because I want to participate in some debauchery the day I get my score. The problem is I work the 29th through the 1st so I kind of have to guess which day to get off. I'd go with the 1st but I know if the scores comes two days earlier there's no way I can wait, whereas I could probably do one day. I know some people think it's stupid to speculate, etc., but it seems like the scores have been consistently arriving early for previous tests and whether it's great news or suicide inducing news, I sure as hell don't want to be at work when I look at it.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: The Progress Thread

Took my last "new" full test today and got a 168. That puts my scores, in this order, at: 167, 170, 167, 163, 172, 168, 168. The last five are June 04 on.

The 163 was largely due to a game where I wrote a rule down wrong (backwards) and got all six questions wrong. Because I find games hardest I prefer the new tests even though the scales keep my scores level. I'm confident I'll fall within the 165-173 range on test day, the problem is there's a pretty big difference for admissions within that range. I feel like I'm inches away from knocking my game errors down by a couple questions, which, as long as the games stay as simple as they've been lately, could push me over the edge. And the whole "test day" thing has never really affected me negatively before so I'm not super worried about it this time.

Took June 2001 today and got a 170. Don't know whether to be excited or depressed though because the breakdown went RC=1 LR=3 LG=9!! Then again, it's nothing new so I'll just have to keep truckin.

Regraded my score and I missed four on the second LR, not 6. That, however, does not alter my eight wrong on the games.

After taking seperate sections and reviewing the Powerscore books I finally sat down and took a full practice today (late I know.) It went pretty much as I was hoping it wouldn't. The breakdown on misses was: First LR=2, Games=8!!!, RC=2, LR=6. The last LR was partly because I hadn't prepared myself for more than two sections in a row so I was feeling a little mentally drained. Basically, I still suck at games so I'm going to try and spend the next couple weeks figuring those out and just maintaining LR and RC (the misses on those were pretty consistent with the timed sections I've been doing, minus a couple extra on the last one which, as I already mentioned, I attribute to fatigue.)

Studying for the LSAT / Logic Games want to rip my soul out.

I know there have been countless games threads but I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some specific advice. The games have always been my trouble spot. Ive been abroad this semester but looked through a Kaplan and Barron's book (yeah, I know) before finally getting the LRB, LGB, and ten actual tets a couple weeks ago or so. I pretty much have worked through the LGB but when I move over to actual preptests I look at half the games and just can't figure out how to get it together. If I can get to the point where I'm getting most games sections right (seemingly impossible right now) breaking 170 should not be a problem. I'm taking the test in June so I'd really appreciate it if anyone that has any specific ideas on how to improve the games, ways to work re-work through the LGB, practice w or w/o timing, etc. would let me know.

Red, what would you label a very low GPA?
