Studying for the LSAT / New LSAT strategy
« on: November 27, 2006, 10:46:15 AM »
I'm wearing my Jets jersey to the LSAT on Saturday. I've determined that not wearing it last time around was the problem. If you see some guy with a Jets jersey in your testing room, it's me. Say hi if you'd like -- I'm pretty friendly.

While we're on the topic, I think everyone here should go to the LSAT wearing sports paraphernalia (I donít mean just wearing a hat or a t-shirtÖI mean looking like youíre dressed to go to a game). Itís fun, and provides a way of identifying fellow LSDers (although there probably arenít all that many taking in December). If nothing else, it will distract fellow test takers and help out with the curve for future tests ;)

Studying for the LSAT / The LSAT is like riding a bike...

You never really forget how to do it. Seriously. I took a PT today -- first since my September test. Granted, it was one I've done before so the score I earned on it (which I'm not even going to compute) is irrelevant, but I wasn't rusty at all. I didn't remember the questions either -- I last took this test over 2.5 months ago. For all of you who are worried about losing a step after September, you're going to be OK. Seriously; you will be surprised about how familiar it all is.

Studying for the LSAT / ATTN: Retakers who underperformed
« on: November 09, 2006, 06:03:49 PM »
When are you guys gonna start looking at LSAT stuff again? I was gonna wait till the last week-week and a half to go over a few tests again (just so I'm fresh). I feel like I'm in good shape to hit my PT average without any new strategies (or hard effort). What are the rest of you doing?

EDIT: To clarify (since I realize everyone who is retaking probably feels they underperformed), I'm talking about ppl who were scoring consistently in a certain range (IE. high 160's/low 170's) and scored substantially lower.

Where should I go next fall? / Suggestions on my list?
« on: October 22, 2006, 09:23:52 PM »
Had this in the apps section...soliciting more/any feedback:

I'm retaking in December, but wanna apply to some schools that I think I can get into now. Here's my list:

I've already submitted these applications. Other than Penn, I think I've got a chance based on current numbers at each (not really FT GT). I consider all of these, with the exception of Penn and Gtown FT, to be 'targets' based on my current stats.
1. Georgetown (PT/FT)
2. UPenn ED
3. BC
4. BU
5. GW
6. W&L

I"m going to submit these before my next score comes in too, as I think I have a chance at these schools as well. I consider these schols closer to safeties than targets, but some of them are not really that safe (ie. Fordham).
7. W&M
8. UNC
9. Fordham
10. American
11. Villanova
12. GMU/UMD (haven't decided)

I'm going to wait until my retake score comes in to send these three off...these are reaches right now (obviously), but I hope to make them targets.
13.Duke
14. Cornell
15. UVA

Any comments/suggestions on my final list?
