Where should I go next fall? / Re: Northwestern or UC Irvine ($30k) for California BigLaw?

Disclaimer: I'm a 0L who applied as well. While I understand Irvine is really competitive to get into, I assume it is a long ways away from gaining the kind of reputation that would ensure employment at a Biglaw firm in CA. We just can't predict where they will fall in ranking and can't know if their reputation will mean anything. However, this is just my speculation. But if you're completely opposed to staying in Chicago or the midwest in general for a few years/life than I would say Irivine. I would attend both of their Admitted Students Day events. That's what I'll be doing as I choose between Washington University in St. Louis and UC Hastings in SF.
