Detroit Mercy / Re: UDM fall 2006???
« on: May 03, 2006, 07:54:45 PM »
Does anyone happen to know anything about parking at the school?  I probably don't even want to know how much it will cost!   I'm still waiting to hear back from my aunts stepdaughter about decent suburbs to live in, and I will pass along the info.  I also work at a police department, and one of our new officers is from Detroit, so I can hopefully get advice from him as well.

I won't be able to make it on May 18th...I'm in Florida and I can't off work.  Please share how everything went for those that do go!

Did you see this link??

I thought there was a lot of good (and promising) info in it.

You may have done this already, but I put UDM in the search engine on LSD site, and have been searching through the different postings related to the school.  Most of the postings are promising.

Hello!  I just received my acceptance letter today and I'm also considering.  Let me know if you get any info, and I'll do the same!  If I do decide to go, my aunt's stepdaughter lives in the Detroit area, so can try and help steer you in a decent (and safe!) area!

Thanks!  I'll look in to that...I think I saw them on rentnet.com, but hearing feedback helps a lot!

Do you currently attend Cooley?

Hello!  I also plan on attending Cooley in the Fall.  If anyone knows of any decent/safe/inexpensive apartments, please let me know!  I'm looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom because my 11 year old will need a bedroom and hope to be able to find a 3 bedroom that is affordable so we can set up an office.

I will be moving from Florida, so needless to say the weather is going to take some getting used to.

Thanks!

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Taking Notes: OneNote v. Word

My vote is for OneNote.  I used it in undergrad and loved it.  It even has some function for law students, but I haven't really used that.  I just used it for basic notetaking and loved how it kept all of my work neat and organized.

Not sure if anyone has a gmail account (email) but I read a couple of months ago several postings where current students save all of their materials on thier gmail accounts and it has worked well for them.  I'm not sure if that will do the trick or not, but I do have access to gmail.  If anyone needs an account, just lemme know.
