Nothing changes for me because I'll still be working for the same place, but the interviewing has begun. And I just got my first callback interview!
what does that mean in English?
your going to be working during the school yr?
Yes, because I get my tuition waived if I do. A callback interview means that I had one interview with the firm and they are asking me back to their offices (my first interview was at a job fair) to have a longer interview and meet more people. You get summer associate offers after callback interviews. Or maybe they're not called callback interviews everywhere, but that's what I call them.

those were just examples
did you find yourself stretched pretty tight budget wise?
it depends on how much you pay for rent, how much you spend on "entertainment," how much you spend shopping, how much you spend in general. if your rent is below budget, you don't drink every weekend, and you don't buy unnecessary things (this includes porn memberships blue), then you should have money to spend on eating well. if, on the other hand, you drink too much and spend money on crap, then yes, you will be eating ramen and mac 'n cheese.
its only 20 a month!!!
some of the numbers ive seen the schools provide seem to be awfully low, thats why i wonder.
10k for housing in miami for example. are they nuts?
Maybe they're talking about student housing?

I’ll just add to this discussion of resumes and cover letters, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. If your going to do OCI and mass mailing, don’t forget networking, asking profs for referrals and volunteering for stuff with the local bar. Do all of these and something will happen for you, if you wait and nothing comes from OCI or mailings, its likely too late to land something you really want for 1L summer, don’t assume ANYTHING is going to work, so your work all your angles and you will have plenty of options.
Personally I think its better to get the “right” summer job for you, than just any summer job you get offered. A good experience over the summer can open a lot of doors for you next year, a bad experience over the summer can really sour you on the whole law school experience.
I'm a dumbass when it comes to networking. Got any tips on how to meet some lawyers, etc. who will talk to you?
Join the local bar association. You can usually attend all the CLE events and such, but the young lawyers division occasionally also has networking receptions. And ask your more savvy networking friends to introduce you around if they know people personally.

Well, 1L summer could always be sacrifices for some travel. 2L would disadvantage you too much.
