I'll look into that. Thanks for the advice.

I am receiving small amounts of $ in federal loans from my law school (Boalt), but over the course of three years it's probably not going to be enough. So, I am receiving a private loan - with a private loan, you have to request a certain amount. I figure I'll need at most $50,000 to cover additional expenses that my federal loans, personal assets and parental help can't cover, so I requested $50,000. Should I be requesting only what I need in one year, or did I do it correctly in requesting the total I will need over the full three years?

yeah, I guess that's not a surprise. Fingers crossed for another few weeks at least, I guess.

Law School Admissions / Stanford News?

I'm still waiting on Stanford, and it's late March. I was complete in November, and haven't heard a word since then. Is it worth it to call? My top two choices are Stanford and Boalt - I've been accepted to Boalt (in early Dec.) and would like to be able to notify them that I am attending.

Has anyone else been waiting for a long time and taken it upon themselves to call? I don't want to call if others have called and been rebuffed with the typical "still reviewing applications..." shtick.

I'm starting to get a bit suspicious about this whole Dean's App process - I think there were many errors in receiving applications. Some people received email notifications that they had made the top 50, some were rejected much earlier via email, but at least three of us following this thread never heard anything back. Two of us emailed asking about confirmation emails, and then were summarily rejected.

Now, I'm fine with other people getting the scholarship while I'm getting rejected - I'm not writing this because I'm bitter about it. However, I'm starting to wonder if there was a massive problem with the submissions or with the communication process - some of us had sent in the application, and heard nothing until we notified them, at which point we were immediately rejected. Maybe they just didn't sent out all the rejections they meant to send out, but I'm not a big fan of how the process has worked out, and I wish they had things working more smoothly.

I got into NYU and Boalt (so far) as well as GULC, and I would definitely consider GULC over Boalt, and NYU wasn't really as high up on my list as those two anyway. Plus, a GULC scholarship counts at Boalt too, due to their matching philosophy...

Hmm, I don't like the sound of that. I just emailed Andy Cornblatt about the application, hoping to make sure they actually received mine. I have no idea why they wouldn't have, unless there was some internal email problem that caused them to miss mine.

Thanks for the heads up.
