U of Texas - Austin / UT Apartment?
« on: April 20, 2006, 11:02:45 AM »
Hi,

I own a brand new condo on West Campus and need to rent it out.

Brand new condo includes:
- 2 bedroom, 2 bath
- 2 private parking spaces in covered garage (parking is really expensive and scarce on UT campus so this is huge)
- 9 foot ceilings
- six outlets to connect for phone, internet, cable
- W/D included
- granite countertops
- all BRAND new appliances including microwave and dishwasher
- spectacular view of the UT tower, downtown and hill country
- controlled access to lobby (need entry card)
- near an E-Bus stop (UT's free shuttle to 6th street where the bars are so you won't have to drive when going out)
- small outdoor deck
- extremely close to UT campus so you can walk not only to campus but also to the Drag (Guadalupe St)

It is $1850/month.

If you sign a lease before the summer or during the summer, I can work with you on a deal.
If you sign a long-term lease, I can work with you on a deal.

Please send me a message through LSD or email me at choolbox@yahoo.com if you are interested or have any questions.

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Apartment for UT Law School?

Hi,

I own a brand new condo on West Campus and need to rent it out.  I went to UT for undergrad but am attending a different school for law school.  For anyone who is not familiar with the UT campus, West Campus is where a large proportion of students live.  It is right next to campus and therefore as a student, you can walk to school.

You are right about the Galleria and Downtown being far apart.  I guess I just kinda mixed the two together.  I am not from Houston but go there every now and then since I have a lot of friends who live there.  But I'm from Austin and went to UT.  I have heard Rice Village and the Medical Center are good areas to live in too...lots of stuff to do.

In terms of pricing for an apt, TX's standard of living is much cheaper than most other areas of the nation.  So it depends on what you consider expensive.  "High end" housing can be considered at the lower end in any other big U.S. city.

How was admit day?

A lot of students also live in Rice Village (near Rice Univ of course).  Downtown is nice but can be pretty pricy since its near the Galleria.

Is anyone going to be full-time?  Also, wondering on people's thoughts about apartments/roommate situation?

Hi everyone,

I will also be attending the U of H next year.  I cannot make Admitted Students Day this Friday either so any info would be great.

Thanks!
