Liberals believe the law can be used to set social policy and correct injustice. Consertatives tend to believe law is set to protect and create order. Liberals have a larger view of what law means, so I guess since its more encompassing they tend to do it more than consertatives. Plus all the major law areas, NY, LA, Chi, DC, are very liberal. Just a guess. Same thing can be said as more consertatives go into stocks and investment banking than liberals.

Does anyone know if Virginia or Michigan gives a lot of weight to be in state vs out of state when it comes to admission? I know they do get a preference but is it a big deal? I know for undergrad the UC schools like UCLA are very hard out of state but ok if you are instate. Was curious how it played at UVA and Mich law. Thanks.
