We still havent received any of our grades. They release them all at once, and the wait is killing me.

Current Law Students / How many people still don't have their grades?

I have definitely gotten my share of rejection letters - most have been form letters. Although, I did get an email asking for my undergrad and law school transcripts. Should that make me hopeful or do you think that is standard? (As a side note, we don't get our transcripts after first semester for at least another month - we don't even have our grades yet!)

We wont have our grades until about 3 weeks in, so I am guessing that not too much will change just yet.

I was talking to a judge who is an alum of my school and he said that didnt like it when people called him Mr. So-and-so. He said it was more appropriate to always refer to them as judge so-and-so.

Job Search / I need job advice
« on: January 10, 2007, 07:23:05 PM »
I was recently offered a job in another state. It is with a large company that has one in-house lawyer. I would be assisting that lawyer all summer and they would pay for housing and a small salary. I would like to stay in my home city for personal reasons, but in a job market with lots of law schools, I dont know the chances of getting another offer. The career services office says that it is probably, but I probably wouldnt get paid. What would you do? (I am a 1L.)

Current Law Students / Is buying the newest edition really necessary?
« on: August 17, 2006, 08:17:09 PM »
I have heard some people say that you can buy an older edition cheaper and then get the newest cases online. Does this actually work? Has anyone here tried it? Like everyone else, Iím just trying to save money on books!
