« on: June 21, 2006, 01:33:27 PM »
Just wanted to say I'm in off Vandy's Waitlist.

Here is a little data to help anyone out who has not given up all hope:
166/3.63
white male from Michigan.
year of work experience teaching Guatemala.
psych major.

If you are feeling less enthusiastic about the waitlist, why don't you pull your name off the list?   :)

Just kidding...and sorry for the pointless bump.

I'm from Detroit, but I went to college at a small school in Nashville, Tennessee, and I have been living in Guatemala teaching at an English-speaking high school for the last year.  I guess I am kind of a roamer.

I am definitely going to check out the London Program but I don't know if I will do it.

I found myself in the Notre Dame Directory online.  Now I know my e-mail address: Patrick.J.McCann.34@nd.edu... That is way too long for me to write out.

I just discovered that you can use your netID for your email address so if your name is something like John Doe, you can just write jdoe@nd.edu instead of ofreakinglong.55@nd.edu" class="bbc_email">jonathan.d.doe.myemailiswayto ofreakinglong.55@nd.edu

How long ago did you send in your deposit check?
I'm waiting to get in the housing lottery, but I am not yet on the student directory.

I've heard the concern raised in relation to other schools that off-campus residents have a tougher time meeting people, though with a 180 person class, it seems like you're bound to know everyone quickly enough.

Yeah, you're correct.  I am sure it is no problem meeting people wherever you live, but I guess I will need to practice my bowling over the summer. ;D

Not becoming a resident of Indiana
Not changing cell phone carriers

I will apply for student housing.  The price seems fair enough, I don't want to drive to campus every morning, and I would like to be able to meet plenty of different people easily (though I am sure I could live off campus and meet people).

I sent my deposit in on Friday.  Talk about last minute, but I am feeling great about the decision though I didn't visit the school.  I am living in Guatemala so it made it kind of impossible.  Oh well, I am sure it will be great.

Go Irish!

I think I am going to Notre Dame (which is actually my lowest ranked school) over GW, USC, and Vandy because it will be about $80,000 cheaper, but I don't think there is that much of a difference between all these schools (Everyone knows the rankings are abitrary and ridiculous).

W&M @ 7K sounds like a reasonable decision over full-priced UVA especially if you want to work in that region.
