I have no idea if I will get into Indiana University but if I do should I choose it over Temple? I really like Temple but I would be dealing with Tier 1 vs. Tier 2. Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
Yeah I went to UCLA... as far as Minnesota goes, I would absolutely want to practice in CA. So I guess eventhough there ranking is higher, I would be better off at Pepperdine. Hopefully I get into Hastings.
The seem to be a billion different things one could call "health law."
Which is why it's so AWSOME.
Babyboomers are all going to need geriatric care and Medicare is going to go bankrupt. Plenty of work for health lawyers in the future.
Well, that sounds a little brainwashed. Personally, I am thinking about in-house work with a group like a pharmaceutical manufacturer, hospital, MCO, etc ... or all things public health.
Is it easy to find jobs in NY or DC coming out of: UNC, Emory, Boston U?
I fear the answer is no.
BU places well in both NY and DC. I'd say BU's biggest markets outside of Boston are NYC, Philly and DC. I'm also suprised at the number of 1Ls this year from CA that are planning on going back to practice in LA and SF.
After an eternity of waiting, my extremely borderline application was put on the waitlist. This is somewhat good news to me since it is not a rejection. I live 45 minutes from Ithaca, so I am going to see if I can go down to Myron Taylor and have a face-to-face with someone.
Has anyone else just been put on the waitlist? What are you going to do?
I'm going to fight for it.
so here is my dilemma...
i got accepted to Brooklyn Law ($30,000 scholarship), Maryland Law (no money), and Wisconsin Law...
waitlisted at: Fordham and GW
i know i want to practice in nyc but i also get instate tuition at Wisconsin and it's so far ranked higher than the other schools i've gotten into...the thing is, i an unsure about post-graduation prospects out of wisconsin in terms of being able to work in nyc...i don't want to be stuck in the midwest...
do i A. go to wisconsin and transfer out, B. plan on attending wisconsin until i hopefully hear good news from either fordham or gw, or C. go to brooklyn because i have better nyc job prospects?
desperately wanting some advice...thanks!
so as everyone probably knows, i really have my heart set on bc for the fall. i just checked my fin aid package, however, and it's not so great. i have other schools that have offered me money, and at this point, i'm freaked out at having to take out so many loans, especially with my interest in pursuing a career in public interest. i still have loans from undergrad, my parents are not supporting me in law school (my dad isn't really even employed and my sister is still in ug herself). i don't know if bc will come through with merit money. there's also a private scholarship from my ug for which i'm applying, but again, nothing is a guarantee. should i just throw caution to the wind, say eff it, and go for bc, and work my tail off for any scholarship opportunities which might come my way? or should i consider some of the lower ranked schools who are throwing money in my face?
do you mind listing the other choices?
of course not. so far i've been accepted to northeastern, tulane, cardozo, all with money, and suffolk with a little bit of money (some sort of small grant). i feel like i'm missing some schools, but those are the important ones.
Tulane and Cardozo are certainly good choices. May I ask how much each one offered?
25k and 28k a year, respectively, though the cardozo one comes with stricter requirements...something like a 3.3 gp whereas tulane is a 3.0. i don't have the stuff in front of me but i believe that's it.
