Disclaimer: This is not to say that any school is your top choice...obviously, you'd probably be happy to go to any one of the schools you applied to...just that it would greatly ease your mind to hear from them for whatever reason.

Since we're all stressing out about the loooong wait, and since many of us have had long stretches of nothingness between news from law schools...

Which one of your pending schools would it be a huge sigh of relief to hear from?  A response of HYS is looked down upon for its simplicity.

Law School Applications / PHONE
« on: January 15, 2008, 05:19:04 PM »
After sitting anxiously by my phone all day, I got two calls within a few mintues - one on my cell from a private number (not a LS) and one on my office line from an outside number while I was taking the first call (also not a LS).

The anxiety of picking up the phone both times was actually quite pleasurable in a this-is-exciting kind of way.

I realize this isn't all that interesting, but I just had to share.  Aaahahhh, this is the magic hour for phone calls...

Law School Applications / Darn you, Doug Kochelek
« on: January 14, 2008, 05:26:47 PM »
My heart stopped beating for a few seconds upon seeing an email from Harvard in my inbox, but it was just about your survey.

Thanks, man.  I will think of you when I die several minutes earlier than I otherwise would have sixty or so years down the line.

...I won a free lunch for ten people at the Thai Restaurant next to my office!  My business card was drawn out of a fishbowl :)

Umm...Yep, that's it.

Come onnnn, NU status checker!

Law School Applications / Alright. Fine. You've talked me into Michigan.
« on: January 08, 2008, 05:14:50 PM »
After reading post after pro-Michigan post on this board, I decided that I might be being a bit too hard on Ann Arbor (my sole reason for not applying to Michigan).  I got a fee waiver this week, so I think I'll give it a shot.  We'll see what happens, I guess...

Studying for the LSAT / Jobs @ Testmasters
« on: January 08, 2008, 12:54:18 PM »
Anybody work for them and want to put in a good word for me?   ;D

Just sent in my resume and LSDAS report and would looooove to teach for them.  If anybody has insights on what their hiring process is like, I'd love to know more.  You can PM me if you'd rather not post here.

Law School Applications / GW packets on the way!!!
« on: January 05, 2008, 02:36:55 PM »
I live within an hour or two of D.C., and I just got a big packet of admissions materials from GW.  Inexblicably, it's dated January 7th, but postmarked 1/4/07.  The Dean wrote a really wonderful personal note on the admissions letter.  Those who got into GW recently should be getting one soon!  I got the admit email on 12/28.

I know GTown is better ranked, but I just get such a fantastic feeling from GW.  As they say in poker when 99 is heads-up against AK, "It's a race."

Law School Applications / Holy crap, what did they do to LSAC?
« on: January 03, 2008, 09:44:29 AM »
I am SO thrown off by this new webpage layout.  I sat staring at it for a few minutes before I realized I'd navigated to the right page after all.

Thoughts on LSAC's makeover?
