Current Law Students / Crazy, crazy students
« on: April 19, 2006, 08:36:37 AM »
Not sure if this has been discussed in other threads (I did a search for "competitive students" and didn't see much) but I was wondering what people's experiences are in terms of hyper-competitive students stealing bookbags/notes, tearing out pages of library books, etc., with the intention of sabotaging other student's grades.  I've definitely heard some horror stories but wasn't sure how true they were.

Have you guys had any experiences with that kind of stuff?  And what school do you go to or what schools are definitely known to have that kind of atmosphere?

maybe i'm just overly influenced by the media, but i'm surprised software engineer/it analyst is still up there -- i would've assumed outsourcing would have an effect on those?

reverendlex, you used openoffice for all your apps, instead of word, excel, etc.?  and you never had any problems using it?

i'll prob just go with the viewer, and if worse comes to worse, and i actually need to make my own presentation, i'll check out openoffice

you guys are awesome, thanks for all your advice  :D

finally got around to checking readings for the first day and am missing summer already

for Civil Procedure 145 with Prof. Rowe, he says to pick up a packet from the distribution room -- what's the distribution room??  i'd hate to email Rowe to ask and already sound like an idiot

just got off the phone with the financial aid office, and according to the woman i spoke with, we do not have to take that Debt Management Session.  She said that what we have to take is Entrance Counseling through the law school.

And then click on Entrance/Exit Counseling

hopefully she gave me the right info and i won't get screwed come august 11

are we required to take the Debt Management Session online?  I went to and clicked to take the session.  After answering the first page of questions (Yes, No, No, Yes), it said that I don't have to complete it at this time.  Should I take it anyway?  Am i crazy?
