Incoming 1Ls / Re: Not working till LS and getting a CC instead?
« on: January 21, 2008, 02:55:45 PM »
It just frustrates me that I'm working the same kind of job that someone still in college works, despite the fact that I graduated with a lot of honors, good internships, etc.  And I'm going to (hopefully) make about 5x as much per hour in a few years.

Suggestion: get over yourself.

If you were looking for something long term, fine. I could see being frustrated. But you're not. You have a few months between graduating and starting another academic program. Find a job that doesn't make you want to kill yourself (I worked as an administrative assistant [after I quit the job that made me want to kill myself] for 6 months, and while I kind of hated it, and the job didn't even require a college degree, it paid the bills, and I learned something about a new industry and met some great people). You might even find something interesting. But living off of credit cards for what, 8 months? is stupid, and it's even stupider to do it because you're frustrated that you don't have a job that reflects just how awesome you are.

Because everyone at a T14 is brilliant and doesn't deserve to be cut off!

[Most] T14s generally don't allow employers to impose restrictions on who they interview.

It also reduces competitiveness.

The T14 can get away with it.

Penn does not calculate GPAs either.

I don't think any T14 schools rank people. I know that none of HYSCCN even calculate GPAs. So, it's probably not really a factor.

Why do non-T14 schools rank people, then?  For fun?!  Well, I didn't hear anybody laughing.

The better to make cutoffs and compare people, my dear.

It's true, Penn doesn't rank. (By the way, this is really nice, but at times frustrating. Like when you're a wee bit obsessive and JUST WANT TO KNOW)

And Penn is fantastic. In every way.

Can you expand a bit on that? What do you like about it so much, etc?

Law School Admissions / Re: LawSchoolMongoose.com Toilet List...
« on: January 16, 2008, 09:02:12 PM »
Step up your trolling son.  This is where you tell us this is a case of IIED and we should open a book.  Gotta stay true to your schtick.

Cady, it was obvious you were laughing with me and at melvin. your post doesn't indicate that you were insulting me, and frankly i'm offended you would say that.

anyway, melvin.
that's not funny, i didn't say the term itself is creative. but for a certain reference in a certain context, the toilet list is creative and original. it's just because people with your limited mindset think it's vulgar and too mean. well, those schools are at their current position for a reason. and pointing out that reason can never be classless, no matter the manner of expression

Don't forget battery. And assault.
