If you'd be unhappy at Columbia, don't go there.

I know/know of a number of people at Penn who chose it over a higher ranked school for personal reasons, and are very happy they did so.

Pick the school that's the best fit for you personally and will also allow you to meet your professional goals. (Penn is great) (Pick Penn)

i think you should check the school out before you decide you'll be miserable here.

This is also true

Cady: Easter bread

HOT CROSS BUNS?!
I didn't mean it that way, but yes. With colorful eggs.

I just love hot cross buns.

My grandma used to make them.

With her bread spoon that she'd worn halfway down over 55 years of bread making.

i think the most favorably way in which to view vercingetorix's sarcasm as commentary on how we consider the death of a celebrity so tragic when there are so many people out there dying every day who get no attention.

on the other hand, i'd go about making that point differently.

You know...I haven't thought a lot about this. But...

I think there is something very unfortunate in this phenomenon. But, might lamenting/mourning the death of celebrities be a way that disparate individuals can come together in grief and thereby express a sense that *&^% sucks? Celebrities come into our homes...a lot of people feel like they know them in a way that we don't know, for instance, many victims of crime, soldiers, etc. (I think you also maybe see something similar when cases get a lot of publicity...I know there was a kid not far from where I grew up who was kidnapped and never found when I was really young, and it got massive amounts of publicity--people still talk about it).

So while I do think there's an indication of misplaced priorities, and I would like to see this kind of attention focused elsewhere, at least it's a general recognition that when someone hasn't had the opportunity to live a full life, or has so much potential, or leaves behind people who will be really hurt by the loss, that's a sad thing?

I don't know. I should go back to work :D
