General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Student Health Coverage Question
« on: May 26, 2004, 10:58:44 AM »
Ok...i'm sure this topic has already been covered here somewhere....but i'm too impatient right now to search through the threads...
i know it varies from school to school, but overall, does anyone know just how BAD the student health insurance coverage is?  is it highly recommended to have a provider other than what you can get at the school? i've gotta make a decision soon, b/c i've put in my notice at work, and need to decide if i'm gonna do the COBRA plan...but i'd rather not, b/c it's damn expensive...
Any idea how prescription medication is covered through those student health plans?
I'm clueless when it comes to all this....

I applied to McGeorge...was accepted...and was offered a scholarship...and my scores are:

LSAT=156
GPA=3.45

If I were you, b/c time is running short, I would either NOT take the June LSAT or take it and cancel it...make the October one be the one that counts.  And I know that some people have mentioned bad experiences with Kaplan...but I can honestly say that that I had a POSITIVE experience with Kaplan...Not only did I learn helpful tools, etc... but even just going to the class provided me with some disciplined structure to follow for studying...

Jew-Lo...where do you live now?  Have you lived in Oregon?  Where have you decided to go to school?  (I'm sure I've seen you answer all of these questions on previous posts, ...but it's hard to keep track of everyone!...)

absolutely get a letter from your parents, and also tell the landlord that you will have them co-sign on the lease...and if the landlord wants to do a credit check or something, they can do it on your parents.

lstudent,...to answer your question about why oregon...
well, i lived in washington as a young child for years, and very vividly remember absolutely loving it...the past few years, i've just felt this pulling to move back to the northwest..i feel like i fit there (i do NOT fit in the South)...anyway, i went out to oregon to visit, and absolutely loved it,...in addition to that, Lewis & Clark (B/c of the school itself and the National Crime Victims Law Institute) was my first choice school (although, i'm waitlisted there)...So, i decided to just go to Willamette and try to transfer after a year if i still want to....there you go!

(ok...now that i'm back again...attention needs to be all back on ME!)
