a friend of mine who has a 3.9+ gpa and an lsat around 160ish just got rejected from the waitlist...  so apparently rejections are real.  has anyone else heard of any more rejection letters going out?

That's the first I've heard of that - YIKES.  I'll be home to check my mailbox in a few minutes... :'( :'( :'(

what grad school?  :)

The last time I posted this - several weeks ago - there were only about 2 other peeps going there... are there more now???
If I don't get off of UCLA's waitlist - this is where I'll be...  Anyone else out there going to Pepperdine?   8)  I'm going to need someone to argue with  ;D

Hey VC, what are you doing before Pepper?

Do you mean this summer?

Yep.
just finished a few short classes and am now studio teaching...   8)

and you?

I have a friend who got in after his father donated a fairly large amount of money---he scored a 145 on his LSAT...great school indeed  ;)

Can I be your friend's friend?

You want to be dumb as dirt and pay your way into law school?  What's mind boggling is the fact that someone would pay to get into a number 88 school ::)

Just so you know...  "dumb as dirt" is not defined by a 145 LSAT score.  As I've said before... the most intelligent people are probably not in law school, and are instead fighting world hunger in 3rd world countries, stoping whale slaughter in the artic, and teaching in inner city schools...  who cares if you can do well on a stupid logic game if you can't make the world a better place.  Who knows, that dude with a 145 could win the next Nobel Peace Prize... you never know  ;D

I'm glad you know who sits where on a subway, and who's selling oranges as opposed to watermelons  ;)

Gandhi was a lawyer.  jsia

Ah, so true...  :D   but somehow I'm doubting he used an LSAT score to get into Law School.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Waitlisted at Loyola-LA
« on: June 26, 2006, 12:34:07 PM »
hi, i just got offered a spot in their evening program...

trying to decide now between USD full-time and LLS part-time...anyone else stuck in this conflict??

any input would be greatly appreciated. thank you~

Would you definitely choose LLS if you were in the full time program?  When I got off the waitlist I chose Loyola over USD (where I was about to go) mainly because of its advantage over USD in prominence in cities I wanted to work/live (LA/SF).  Also, living in LA for 3 years during school definitely appealed to me more than living in SD.

 :o :o :o

I know, right!

haha... don't get me wrong, SD is beautiful and I can see why people love it so much so I won't argue against it, but its just a matter of personal preference.  I'm not even a big fan of LA but its a larger metropolitan area (I hate calling it a city) with so much going on, and SD seems much more chill and relaxed, which is a place I'd want to live maybe when I'm a little older.  A couple other factors like diversity and proximity to friends/family also come into play for me.

Anyway, they're both nice but San Francisco still tops the list for me  :P

Well, duh!  There is no better city! (That I know of).

I'll 3rd that!  The Bay area is SO beautiful  8)

Latinlord,

All thanks back at ya!!! I am sure you will serve as an example and inspiration for many to come. Please keep us updated on your progress! six acceptances is awesome, I can remember when you were starting to think that this cycle might end up as a bust as well and look at you! Good luck and thanks for all your candid openness on this board, it is refreshing. [

Cute Doggies Nell Belle!!!

And Congrats to LatinLord!!!   :-* :-* :-*

I'd pick USD.  But we're all SO different.  You should find out what your schedule would be, and try driving to Loyola at night a few times and see if you hit a ton of traffic...  I loathe  :o L.A. traffic.
